So I decided to give Almond Milk making a try. I have blended up almonds with various things (rooibos tea) and called it milk, but I though it might be fun to go hog wild and pull out a cheese cloth. I poured 3 cups of hot water onto a cup of almonds and let them sit for 15 minutes. I blended them with a squirt of agave. Then I poured it through the cheese cloth into a container. After I was done, I added 3 more cups cold water to the almond meal, another squirt of agave and blended again. Strain and repeat. At the end of this I had 9 cups of fresh almond milk and about a cup of almond meal. The milk was amazing! I think I might have been giddy with the coolness of making it myself, because I am sure it tasted better than store bought =) The best part was how much munchkin enjoyed making it!

you make almond milk look super easy to make! i’m going to have to try making my own, too! this is going to be so awesome! and it’s less wasteful, too – i always feel bad buying our almond milk in those containers – now we can reduce even more! superw00t!
